Jagatjit Industries expects Rs 550 crore annual revenue from new grain-based ethanol plant in Punjab

Jagatjit Industries Ltd on Monday said that it has started commercial production at its new grain-based ethanol plant in Hamira, located in the Kapurthala district of Punjab. The company expects the facility to generate around Rs. 550 crore in annual revenue once it reaches full capacity.

The plant has a daily production capacity of 200 kilolitres and is expected to supply between 65 and 70 million litres of ethanol each year to India’s Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

In a company statement, company said that running at full capacity, the facility is expected to generate up to Rs 550 crore in annual turnover and widen the Group’s EBITDA margin by approximately 8-10 percentage points. During its first partial year of operations, the plant is expected to contribute around Rs. 300 crore to the company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA).

At full capacity, it could supply up to 65-70 million litres of ethanol per year to Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

“This is a significant step forward for us,” said Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, Promoter and Executive Director of Jagatjit Industries. “The ethanol facility offers a Rs. 550 crore annual revenue potential and an 8-10% margin boost. It brings stable, high-quality income that will strengthen our financial position and support our expansion in premium spirits and new markets.”

Founded in 1944, Jagatjit Industries Ltd is a BSE-listed company known for manufacturing Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Country Liquor (CL).
