Jagatjit Industries starts commercial production at new 200 KLPD grain-based ethanol plant in Punjab

Jagatjit Industries Limited (JIL) has officially started commercial production of ethanol at its newly commissioned 200 KLPD grain-based distillery plant in Jagatjit Nagar, Village Hamira, Kapurthala district, Punjab.

In an exchange filing, the company stated, “We wish to inform you that today, i.e., 18th July 2025, the Company has commenced commercial production of ethanol from grain at its newly established 200 KLPD grain-based ethanol distillery plant located at Jagatjit Nagar, Village Hamira, Distt. Kapurthala, Punjab – 144802.”

This new facility represents a major step for Jagatjit Industries as it expands into ethanol production, supporting India’s increasing emphasis on green energy and ethanol blending initiatives.

Jagatjit Industries Limited (JIL) is one of world’s leaders in the premium drinks segment. Company has one of the largest integrated distilleries manufacturing potable alcohol in in India. According to the company, it is the first to possess in-house capabilities for producing molasses and non-molasses based potable alcohol from fully automated distillation plants. JIL manufactures and markets alcoholic beverages, malt, malt extract, nutritious planned food, milk powder, ghee, and dairy products. We also manufacture malted milk foods.
