Moradabad: Sugar mills to begin operations by November 10

Kanth, Moradabad (UP): In sugar season 2025–26, crushing operations at all three sugar mills in the region will begin by November 10. The mills have already issued their indent notices, and preparations for operations are in full swing by the respective management teams.

The Kanth Tehsil region is well known for its high sugarcane yield. Every year, sugarcane from Kanth farmers is purchased by Avadh sugar mill, Seohara (Bijnor), Dewan Sugar Mill, Agwanpur, and Triveni sugar mill, Raninangal. This year as well, the three mills have completed preparations for the upcoming crushing season.

According to Khet Singh, Secretary of the Cooperative Sugarcane Development Committee, Kanth, all three mills have announced their operational dates. Avadh Sugar Mill, Seohara will begin operations on November 7, while Diwan sugar mill and Triveni sugar mill will commence on November 10. Accordingly, Seohara mill has issued its indent till November 3, and Diwan and Triveni mills have issued theirs till November 6. Preparations for smooth operations are being made by the mill management teams.

Under the 2025–26 crushing season, a total of 70 sugarcane purchasing centers are being established in the Kanth region by the three mills to facilitate farmers’ sugarcane sales. As per Secretary Khet Singh, Avadh sugar mill will set up 38 purchase centers, Diwan sugar mill will have 27 centers and one mill gate, while Triveni sugar mill will establish five centers.

Through these centers, sugarcane from Kanth region farmers will be procured efficiently for the upcoming crushing season.
