The National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories (NFCSF) on Tuesday organized a virtual brainstorming session to deliberate on the directions issued by the Union Minister for Home and Cooperation for ensuring the long-term sustainability of cooperative sugar mills across the country.
The session was chaired by senior officials and industry stakeholders and focused on developing actionable strategies to strengthen, expand and diversify the operations of cooperative sugar mills in line with the government’s cooperative development agenda.
Addressing the participants, Ashwini Srivastava, Joint Secretary (Sugar), Department of Food and Public Distribution, guided them on the directions of Minister and asked participants to share their views to develop actionable plans.
Prakash Naiknavare, Managing Director of NFCSF, said that the advice of experts and views of participants shall be collated for further discussion to expand and diversify the operations of cooperative sugar mills
The brainstorming session witnessed participation from V.K. Dubasi, Director, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Deloitte, and the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), in addition to Chairman and Managing Directors of cooperative sugar mills from various states.
In total, around 100 participants joined the online session, showing strong stakeholder engagement and a shared commitment towards strengthening India’s cooperative sugar sector through sustainable and innovative approaches.
