Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) will be using bamboo as raw material for the production of ethanol. The company has invested a huge amount in a bio-ethanol plant, said Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, managing director of NRL while speaking at an event organised by CII virtually.
The Assam-based company has collaborated with a Finnish company for using bamboo to manufacture ethanol.
“We will procure bamboo from the farmers and will produce ethanol using the technology of a Finnish firm. We have tied up with this company. This will help us to achieve the ethanol blending target of the government,” he said.
