Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL), a technology-based company engaged in waste valorisation and bioenergy solutions for over 17 years, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PRESPL (Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Private Limited), a leading Bio-Energy enterprise of India.
The MoU signifies a strategic alliance between ORSL and PRESPL aimed at jointly developing and executing Bio-Gas and Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) projects across India and potential international markets.
ORSL has developed proprietary technologies and successfully implemented large-scale waste management and bioenergy projects across India. The company operates as a comprehensive engineering and technology platform, offering end-to-end solutions through Technology, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (TEPC) contracts and bioenergy generation projects from diverse feedstock.
PRESPL provides biomass solutions to power plants, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and process industries, along with consultancy and O&M services for biogas and boiler systems. The company also operates BOOT (Steam/Energy at Cost) models and offers services across Biomass Power, Biogas, Boilers, Waste Management, and Biomass-to-Bio-CNG projects, as well as advisory for Energy Transition, Net Zero, and Carbon Credit management.
Strategic Rationale for the MoU
The partnership between ORSL and PRESPL is built on a shared vision of advancing India’s renewable energy transition through sustainable waste-to-energy and biomass solutions.
Under the terms of the MoU:
ORSL will serve as the preferred partner for Technology, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (TEPC) services, leveraging its in-house innovations and proven execution capabilities in waste-to-energy and biofuel projects.
PRESPL will serve as the preferred partner for Biomass Supply Chain Management services, drawing on its extensive experience in biomass sourcing, logistics, and fuel management.
Together, both companies will jointly identify, pursue, and implement projects in the Bio-Gas and CBG sector, delivering end-to-end integrated solutions from feedstock assessment and supply chain logistics to technology deployment and plant operations.
Expected Benefits of the Collaboration
Synergistic Capabilities: The alliance combines PRESPL’s deep expertise in biomass supply and management with ORSL’s engineering and technology strengths, ensuring a reliable, efficient, and sustainable project execution model.
Market Expansion: Both companies will jointly target domestic and international clients, opening new avenues for business growth and diversification.
Enhanced Project Bankability: The combined experience and credibility of both entities strengthen project viability, attracting investors, partners, and clients.
Support for National Bioenergy Mission: The partnership aligns with the Government of India’s focus on renewable energy, particularly the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative, which aims to promote CBG as a clean fuel alternative.
Sarang Bhand, Managing Director, ORSL, stated: “This partnership marks a significant milestone in ORSL’s growth journey. By joining forces with PRESPL, a leading company in biomass management, we aim to deliver integrated bioenergy solutions that would make meaningful contributions to India’s green energy ecosystem. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to excel in project deliveries, ensuring end-to-end solutions and sustainable project outcomes.”
Lt. Col. Monish Ahuja (Retd), Chairman & Managing Director, PRESPL, commented: “PRESPL envisions a future where India’s waste and biomass streams become engines of clean growth and energy independence. Our partnership with ORSL brings together innovation, execution strength, and shared purpose to transform the Bio-Gas and CBG ecosystem. This alliance embodies PRESPL’s mission to pioneer sustainable bioenergy models that deliver social impact, environmental value, and economic resilience—driving India closer to its Net Zero dream and global leadership in green energy. We are delighted to partner with ORSL on this shared journey.”
