The Income Tax Department conducted a raid at the Dhampur Bio Organic Limited factory in Meerganj early Wednesday morning. The raid operation began early morning, and during the proceedings, employees and management staff inside the factory were not allowed to leave the premises, reported Livehindusthan.com.
The joint teams of the Income Tax Department from Lucknow and Delhi are leading the operation, with additional officers from Bareilly also participating. As soon as the teams arrived, all entry and exit gates of the factory were sealed to prevent anyone from entering or leaving the premises, as per the news report.
According to sources, the first step taken by the officers was to seize the mobile phones of factory management and staff. Following this, officials began a detailed inspection of company records, accounting files, computer systems, and digital data. The main focus of the raid appears to be the examination of financial transactions and related documents, reported Live Hindusthan.
A heavy secuirty force has been deployed outside the factory to maintain security and order.
As of now, the Income Tax Department has not issued any official statement about the raid. The teams remain on-site, continuing their scrutiny of documents and questioning of key personnel.
