Sathiaon sugar mill to operate 45 cane purchase centers next crushing season

Sathiaon, Uttar Pradesh: A meeting of delegates and directors was held at Di Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill, Satthianv, on Friday in the presence of Chief Revenue Officer Sanjeev Ojha and Deputy Chairman Yashwant Singh. The discussions focused on purchase centers under the local committee, sugarcane procurement, and other key issues faced by farmers, reported Live Hindustan.

It was agreed that in the next crushing season, the mill will purchase sugarcane from 45 purchase centers, up from 38 in the current season. Additionally, proposals to merge seven more centers were also discussed. Three resolutions were passed, including measures for crop protection and improved functioning of the local committee’s purchase centers.

Officials explained that previously the mill operated with 38 centers, including the mill gate. With the addition of centers linked to Ghosi Sugar Mill in Mau district, the number will increase to 45 in the coming season. In future, centers at Mehnagar, Thekma, and Bajrang Nagar will be linked to Bindr Bazar, while Didarganj and Badlapur centers will be attached to Chamav.

During the meeting, farmers including Dinesh, Sukkhan Yadav, and Devnath complained of delayed communication, unnecessary harassment during the season, and irregularities in surveys. General Manager Vikas Kumar Singh assured that he will remain available at the mill to address farmer grievances directly.

The meeting was attended by former Deputy Chairman Anand Upadhyay, former Director Ramdarash Yadav, Directors Ram Avadh Yadav, Chandeshwar Rai, Mahesh Yadav, Murali Ram, Chandrkesh Yadav, Devnath Yadav, and Ramjatan Yadav, along with Chief Cane Officer Bhim Kushwaha, Deputy Manager Rahul Kat, Chief Chemist Shailendra Kumar, Chief Engineer Rajesh Kumar, and others.
