Indian stock markets closed higher on Tuesday, supported by cautious optimism in global markets and growing expectations of advancement in India-U.S. trade deal.
Sensex ended 270.01 points higher at 83,712.51, whereas Nifty concluded 61.20 points up at 25,522.50.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, Eternal, and Asian Paints were among the top gainers on the Sensex, lending crucial support to the index. Select heavyweight stocks also added to the uptrend.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 9.61 points higher at 83,442.50, whereas Nifty concluded 0.30 points up at 25,461.30.
