Indian benchmark indices declined on February 24, with the Sensex losing 1,068.74 points and the Nifty falling 288.35 points.
The BSE Sensex closed at 82,225.92, while the Nifty 50 ended at 25,424.65.
Among the top Nifty losers were Tech Mahindra, Eternal, Infosys, TCS and HCL Technologies. Gainers included HUL, Sun Pharma, Power Grid Corp, NTPC and JSW Steel.
The Indian rupee ended lower at 90.95 per dollar on Tuesday, compared with Monday’s close of 90.88.
In the previous trading session, the Sensex had settled at 83,294.66, while the Nifty closed at 25,713.
