Indian benchmark indices extended losses on March 9, with the Sensex losing 1352.74 points and the Nifty down 422.40 points.
The BSE Sensex closed at 77,566.16, while the Nifty 50 ended at 24,028.05.
Top losers included Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto, UltraTech Cement, Maruti Suzuki while the gainers were Wipro, Sun Pharma, Apollo Hospital, Reliance Industries, Infosys
The Indian rupee closed at 92.33 per US dollar on Monday, compared to the previous close of 91.74.
In the previous trading session, the Sensex had settled at 78,938.80, while the Nifty closed at 24,456.75.
