Indian benchmark indices declined on March 13, with the Sensex losing 1470.50 points and the Nifty falling by 488.05 points.
The BSE Sensex closed at 74,563.92, while the Nifty 50 ended at 23,151.10.
Top Nifty losers included Hindalco, L&T, Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement and JSW Steel, while gainers included Tata Consumer, HUL, Bharti Airtel.
The Indian rupee closed at 92.45 against the US dollar on Friday, compared with the previous close of 92.19.
In the previous trading session, the Sensex had settled at 76,034.42, while the Nifty closed at 23,639.15.
