Indian equity markets ended lower on Thursday as selling pressure in media, metal, and financial stocks weighed on investor sentiment.
Sensex ended 148.14 points lower at 83,311.01, whereas Nifty concluded 87.95 points down at 25,509.70.
Indian rupee ended at 88.62 per dollar on Thursday versus Tuesday’s close of 88.65.
Asian Paints, Interglobe Aviation, M&M, Reliance Industries, UltraTech Cement were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Hindalco, Grasim Industries, Adani Enterprises, Power Grid Corp and Eternal.
In the previous, Sensex ended 519.34 points lower at 83,459.15, whereas Nifty concluded 165.70 points down at 25,597.65.
