Indian equity indices ended on a negative note in the volatile session on Thursday.
Sensex ended 170.22 points lower at 83,239.47, whereas Nifty concluded 48.10 points down at 25,405.30.
Apollo Hospitals, Hero MotoCorp, Dr Reddy’s Labs, ONGC, Maruti Suzuki were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were SBI Life Insurance, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finance, JSW Steel, Bajaj Finserv.
Indian rupee ended 39 paise higher at 85.32 per dollar on Thursday versus previous close of 85.71.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 287.60 points lower at 83,409.69, whereas Nifty concluded 88.40 points down at 25,453.40.
