Indian equity indices ended higher in the volatile session on Friday.
Sensex ended 193.42 points higher at 83,432.89, whereas Nifty concluded 55.70 points up at 25,461.00.
Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Dr Reddy’s Labs, ICICI Bank, HUL were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Trent, Tata Steel, Eicher Motors, Tech Mahindra and IndusInd Bank.
Indian rupee ended lower at 85.39 per dollar on Friday against Thursday’s close of 85.32.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 170.22 points lower at 83,239.47, whereas Nifty concluded 48.10 points down at 25,405.30.
