Indian equity indices ended lower on May 16.
Sensex ended 200.15 points down at 82,330.59, whereas Nifty concluded 42.30 points lower at 25,019.80.
Bharat Electronics, Bajaj Auto, Adani Enterprises, Tata Consumer, Eternal were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Bharti Airtel, JSW Steel, Infosys, SBI, HCL Technologies.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 1,200.18 points up at 82,530.74, whereas Nifty concluded 395.20 points higher at 25,062.10.
Indian rupee ended marginally higher at 85.51 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday’s close of 85.54.
