Indian equity indices ended higher on August 20.
Sensex ended 213.45 points higher at 81,857.84, whereas Nifty concluded 69.90 points up at 25,050.55.
Infosys, HUL, TCS, Nestle India, NTPC were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finance, Bharat Electronics, Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank.
Indian rupee ended 11 paise lower at 87.07 per dollar on Wednesday versus previous close of 86.96.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 370.64 points higher at 81,644.39, whereas Nifty concluded 103.70 points up at 24,980.65.
