Indian equity markets closed higher on Friday amid buying across the sectors barring IT and realty.
Sensex ended 303.03 points higher at 84,058.90, whereas Nifty concluded 88.80 points up at 25,637.80.
Jio Financial, IndusInd Bank, Adani Enterprises, Asian Paints, Apollo Hospitals were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Trent, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Eternal, Wipro, Tata Consumer.
Indian rupee ended 21 paise higher at 85.49 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday’s close of 85.70.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 1,000.36 points higher at 83,755.87, whereas Nifty concluded 304.25 points up at 25,549.00.
