Sensex ends 346 points lower, Nifty nears 25,350

Benchmark stock market indices closed lower on Thursday, as investors stayed cautious amid uncertainty over US President Donald Trump’s tariff policy and the upcoming Q1FY26 domestic earnings reports.

Sensex ended 345.80 points lower at 83,190.28, whereas Nifty concluded 120.85 points down at 25,355.25.

Bharti Airtel, HDFC Life, Asian Paints, Apollo Hospitals, Shriram Finance were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were IndusInd Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv.

Indian rupee ended marginally higher at 85.64 per dollar on Thursday versus Wednesday’s close of 85.68.

In the previous season, Sensex ended 176.43 points lower at 83,536.08, whereas Nifty concluded 46.40 points up at 25,476.10.
