Indian equity benchmarks ended on a strong note on April 23.
Sensex ended 520.90 points up at 80,116.49, whereas Nifty concluded 161.70 points higher at 24,328.95.
HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, Wipro, Infosys were among biggest gainers on the Nifty, while losers were HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, SBI, Grasim Industries.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 187.09 points up at 79,595.59, whereas Nifty concluded 41.70 points higher at 24,167.25.
Indian rupee ended 23 paise lower at 85.42 per dollar on Wednesday versus Tuesday’s close of 85.19.
