Indian benchmark indices ended on a negative note on July 24.
Sensex ended 542.47 points lower at 82,184.17, whereas Nifty concluded 157.80 points down at 25,062.10.
Eternal, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Tata Motors, Grasim Industries, Cipla were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Trent, Nestle India, Shriram Finance, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries.
Indian rupee ended flat at 86.40 per dollar on Thursday versus previous close of 86.41.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 539.83 points higher at 82,726.64, whereas Nifty concluded 159.00 points up at 25,219.90.
