Indian equity indices ended on strong note on June 16, despite rising Middle East geopolitical tensions
Sensex ended 677.55 points higher at 81,796.15, whereas Nifty concluded 227.90 points up at 24,946.50.
Biggest Nifty gainers included SBI Life Insurance, UltraTech Cement, Bharat Electronics, HDFC Life, ONGC, while losers were Tata Motors, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Adani Ports and Sun Pharma.
Indian rupee ended marginally higher at 86.06 per dollar on Monday versus Friday’s close of 86.09.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 573.38 points lower at 81,118.60, whereas Nifty concluded 169.60 points down at 24,718.60.
