Indian benchmark indices continued their rally on February 17, with the Sensex rising by 173.81 points and the Nifty gaining 42.65 points.
The Sensex closed at 83,450.96, while the Nifty ended the session at 25,725.40.
Top gainers on the Nifty included Infosys, HCL Technologies, Wipro, ITC and Tech Mahindra, while the top losers were Eternal, Trent, Hindalco Industries, Shriram Finance and Tata Steel.
The Indian rupee closed marginally lower at 90.68 against the US dollar, compared with the previous close of 90.65.
On the previous trading day, Monday, the Sensex had ended at 83,277.15, while the Nifty closed at 25,682.75.
