Indian benchmark indices ended with little change in the volatile session on December 23.
Sensex ended 42.63 points lower at 85,524.84, whereas Nifty concluded 4.75 points up at 26,177.15.
Coal India, Shriram Finance, UltraTech Cement, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Power Grid Corp were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Cipla, Tech Mahindra, Axis Bank.
Indian rupee ended flat at 89.66 per dollar on Tuesday versus Monday’s close of 89.65.
In the previous season, at close, Nifty was at 26,172.40, up 206 points, or 0.78% while Sensex closed at 85,567.48, up 638.12 points or 0.75%.
