Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty climbed in early trade on Wednesday.
The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 270.39 points to 66,626.10. The broader NSE Nifty advanced 69 points to 19,748.85.
At 10:31 am, Sensex was trading 511.42 points up at 66,867.13, whereas Nifty was trading 135.85 points higher at 19,816.45.
From the Sensex pack, Larsen & Toubro jumped 4 per cent and Tata Motors climbed nearly 2 per cent. ITC, Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries and Power Grid were the other major gainers.
