Indian benchmark indices recovered on February 20, with the Sensex gaining 316.57 points and the Nifty rising 116.90 points.
The BSE Sensex closed at 82,814.71, while the Nifty 50 ended at 25,571.25.
Top gainers included Hindalco Industries, NTPC, SBI Life Insurance, Larsen & Toubro, and Coal India, while losers were Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Eternal, HCL Technologies, and Grasim Industries.
The Indian rupee ended lower at 90.98 per dollar on Friday, compared with Wednesday’s close of 90.67.
On the previous trading day, Thursday, the Sensex had settled at 82,498.14, while the Nifty closed at 25,454.35.
