Indian benchmark indices continued their rally on February 9, with the Sensex closing above 84,000 and the Nifty at 25,867.
The Sensex ended 485.35 points higher at 84,065.75, while the Nifty gained 173.60 points to close at 25,867.30.
Top gainers on the Nifty included State Bank of India, Shriram Finance, Titan, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and Grasim Industries, while losers were Max Healthcare, Power Grid Corporation, ITC, ONGC, and NTPC.
The Indian rupee ended lower by 31 paise at 90.76 per dollar, compared with the previous close of 90.66.
On the previous trading day (Friday), the Sensex had closed at 83,580.40, and the Nifty at 25,693.70.
