Indian benchmark indices ended with marginal gains in the volatile session on February 4.
Sensex ended 78.56 points up at 83,817.69, whereas Nifty concluded 48.45 points higher at 25,776.
ONGC, Eternal, Trent, Adani Ports and NTPC led the gains on the Nifty, while IT majors Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies and Wipro were among the top laggards.
Indian rupee ended lower at 90.43 per dollar on Wednesday versus previous close of 90.27.
On Monday, Sensex rose 2072.67 points to close at 83,739.13, whereas Nifty concluded 639.15 points up to 25,727.55.
