In a move to give coffee lovers more control over their daily brew, TATA Starbucks has introduced a new range of customization options across its Indian stores. For the first time, customers can now choose their preferred level of sweetness in their favourite drinks, including the option for zero added sugar, reports SME Street.
Popular flavours such as Vanilla, Hazelnut, and Caramel are now available in sugar-free versions. When ordering, customers can simply ask for their beverage to be made “No Sugar,” “Less Sweet,” or “Regular.” This update is designed to lower the calorie count of the drinks without losing the familiar taste that people expect from the brand.
The change comes at a time when health and wellness are becoming major priorities for Indian consumers, especially during the start of the year when many people are resetting their daily routines.
“India’s coffee culture has changed a lot,” said Sushant Dash, CEO of TATA Starbucks. “People want more control over how their drinks are made. Sweetness is a big part of that, and this change lets customers decide what works for them while still getting a high-quality, flavourful drink.”
The new sweetness levels are being rolled out across all 506 Starbucks locations in 81 cities. Whether ordering at a counter, through the mobile app, or via delivery platforms, the options will be standardized to ensure the drink tastes the same every time.
By offering these “lower-calorie” alternatives, the company aims to appeal to a wider range of customers—from those looking for a healthier treat to those who simply prefer a less sugary taste—while maintaining the indulgent experience the coffee chain is known for.
