The UP Sugar Mills Association (UPSMA) has repeated its demand for ‘sugarcane pricing reform’ and an urgent need for financial assistance to the millers to settle the overdue payments to the farmers. The sugar commissioner of Uttar Pradesh has fixed dates for meetings to reserve sugarcane area for mills in the coming crushing season however the Uttar Pradesh Sugar Millers Association has expressed its inability to participate in the meeting through the letter.
