Mawana Sugars Ltd has commenced cane crushing operations for the 2025–26 sugar season at its two sugar units in Uttar Pradesh (UP).
As per the exchnage filing, the company informed that it has started the crushing operatons for the crushing season 2025-26 at Mawana Sugars Works (MSW), Mawana, Meerut (UP) and Nanglamal Sugar Complex (NSC), Nanglamal, Meerut (UP)
On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh government has increased sugarcane prices by up to Rs. 30 per quintal, a decision that is expected to provide an additional benefit of around Rs. 3,000 crore to farmers across the state. This move is being seen as a significant step toward improving the income of sugarcane growers in Uttar Pradesh. The price of the early variety of sugarcane has been fixed at Rs 400 per quintal, while the common variety will be priced at Rs 390 per quintal for sugar season 2025-26.
The Indian Sugar and Bioenergy Manufacturers Association (ISMA), in its preliminary sugar production estimate for 2025-26 Sugar Season on 31st July, had said that the country is expected to have a good sugarcane crop. The all-India figure given by the ISMA was 349 lakh tons (before ethanol diversion). The Association is expected to release its 1st advance estimates of sugar production for the 2025–26 season in the 1st week of November 2025, based on the combined analysis of field observations, satellite data and other relevant parameters.
