Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: A meeting was held on Wednesday in the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Dr. V.K. Singh, focusing on sugarcane payment to farmers. The meeting was attended by officials of major sugar mills in the district.
District Cane Officer Brijesh Kumar Patel reported that Sakhoti Tanda, Mawana, and Nanglamal sugar mills have already made full payments to farmers, reported local portal Royal Bulletin.
DM made it clear to all mill managers that the outstanding payments to farmers must be cleared promptly, or strict administrative action would follow.
Dr. Singh emphasized that timely payment to sugarcane farmers is a top priority for the administration and warned that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
