Thiruvananthapuram: A Valentine’s Day sugar offer announced by the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation is drawing widespread attention in Kerala, Deccan Herald reported.
The agency introduced the offer as part of its golden jubilee celebrations. Under the scheme, customers purchasing non-subsidised goods worth ₹1,000 from Supplyco outlets will receive one kilogram of sugar for ₹14, while those spending ₹500 will get 500 grams. The current market price of sugar is about ₹43.5 per kilogram. The promotion will run from February 14 to 28.
Managing Director V. M. Jayakrishnan said the initiative aims to attract more shoppers, particularly young people, to Supplyco stores.
The move has also sparked reactions on social media, with many remarking that the retailer is adding extra sweetness to Valentine’s Day.
