Vietnam will roll out E10 biofuel across the country starting June 2026 under a new circular issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), reports VnEconomy.
According to Circular 50/2025/TT-BCT, all unleaded gasoline sold in the market must be converted to E10 — a blend containing 10% ethanol — from June 1, 2026. The existing E5 RON92, which contains 5% ethanol, will continue to be available until the end of 2030.
The MoIT, as reported by the Vietnam News Agency, said it may revise blending ratios or introduce additional fuel options when required to ensure energy security, support environmental goals, and protect consumer interests.
The ministry added that the use of biodiesel B5 and B10 will not be made compulsory for diesel engines at this time.
E10 biofuel has already been introduced on a pilot basis by major distributors Petrolimex and PV Oil since August 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Hai Phong.
