Pune: A sudden fire broke out at a warehouse of Bhima-Patas Cooperative sugar mill leading to burning of 69,376 quintal sugar. The fire tenders from neighbouring town managed to douse the fire. However sugar worth crores of rupees damaged due to fire and water used while dousing the fire.
The incident has been registered with Yavat police station. According to police, the workers noticed smoke emitting from the warehouse no 6 and alerted the administration. Realising the gravity of the situation, the administration immediately contacted fire brigade from Kurkumbh at MIDC area. The fire tenders reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The officials are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.
