84 per cent sugarcane dues cleared in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday said that the government has cleared more than 84 per cent dues of the sugarcane farmers.

The government claims that in the last 50 years it is the highest and fastest payment benefitting to more than 45 lakh sugarcane farmers. The farmers have received around Rs 1, 42,650 crores in the last four years and helped farmers to earn at least Rs 3,200 per quintal.

According to the news report published in The Times of India, an official said, “120 sugar mills participated in 2020-21 crushing season. They have procured 1,028 lakh tons of sugarcane worth Rs 33,025 crore. Against the target, dues to the tune of Rs 27,465 crore have been cleared. Also, 53 mills have cleared 100 per cent dues.”
