Taylormade Renewables secures patent for its next-generation sugar manufacturing process

Taylormade Renewables Limited has been granted a patent for its next-generation sugar manufacturing process.

The company announced that the patented system replaces conventional, chemical-heavy, and energy-intensive operations post-crushing with a modular, chemical-free, and ultra-efficient process powered by the Company’s proprietary technologies: TRL ZEO-MEMBRANE®, TRL RAIN®, and TRL RAIN ULTRA®.

This patented process introduces an entirely new approach to sugar production, offering:
• Zero chemical usage – no lime, sulfur, or phosphates
• Up to 80% reduction in water and energy consumption
• ~10% higher sugar recovery
• Transparent, premium-grade sugar with longer shelf life
• No multi-effect evaporators required
• Full Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) capability
• Easy integration into existing crystallization systems

TRL ZEO-MEMBRANE® naturally removes complex impurities like polyphenols, pigments, waxes, and fats. TRL RAIN® concentrates sugarcane juice in a single pass, and TRL RAIN ULTRA® further enhances recovery and resource efficiency, particularly for distillery-linked operations.

The Company has also been officially registered as an approved manufacturer by the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. (NFCSF). The registration was granted during NFCSF’s 72nd Registration Committee meeting held on 10th June 2025 and is valid for a period of three years, up to 9th June 2028.

According to the company, with NFCSF approval now in place, it is positioned to offer this patented system across over 200 cooperative sugar and distillery plants in India, accelerating its deployment through Build-Own-Operate (BOO) projects, technology licensing, and turnkey solutions.
