Indian equity indices ended on a weak note with on August 29.
Sensex ended 270.92 points lower at 79,809.65, whereas Nifty concluded 74.05 points down at 24,426.85.
Shriram Finance, ITC, Bharat Electronics, Trent, Asian Paints were among top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were M&M, Infosys, Apollo Hospitals, Adani Enterprises, Reliance Industries.
Indian rupee touched fresh record low of 88.31, before closing at 88.20 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday’s close of 87.63.
In the previous season, BSE Sensex was down 705.97 points or 0.87 per cent at 80,080.57, and the Nifty 50 at National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 211.15 points or 0.85 per cent at 24,500.90.
