Indian benchmark indices ended flat in the volatile session on September 5.
Sensex ended 7.25 points lower at 80,710.76, whereas Nifty concluded 6.70 points up at 24,741.00.
The Sensex opened the day with a slight positive bias and ended flat at around 80,700. The 50-share index mostly traded between the 24,600 and 24,850 levels during intraday movement before closing just nine points below the 24,750 mark.
M&M, Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Power Grid are among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers are ITC, TCS, Cipla, HCL Technologies, Cipla.
Indian rupee ended 11 paise lower at 88.26 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday’s close of 88.15.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 150.30 points higher at 80,718.01, whereas Nifty concluded 19.25 points up at 24,734.30.
