On Sunday, 28th September 2025, the Annual General Meeting of both the Ethanol Manufacturers Association of India and the Distillers Association of Maharashtra for the financial year 2024тАУ25 was held in a convivial atmosphere at Akluj.
The meeting was graced by the President of the Association, HonтАЩble Shri Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil, Former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Hon. Shri Harshvardhanji Patil, President, National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd., New Delhi; Hon. MLA Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil, Executive President of the Association; Hon. Shri Pratik Jayant Patil, Vice President of the Association; Hon. Shri Vikas Raskar; and several other esteemed Directors, including Shri Swarup Deshmukh, Shri Praveen More, Shri Sanjeev Desai, Hon. Shri Kannu Kalani, Vice President of the Distillers Association, Shri Suresh Jaiswal, Shri Ashok Tarhade, Shri Arvind Gore, and Smt. Swarooparani Mohite-Patil, Director of the S.M. Shankarrao Mohite Patil SSK Ltd.
Also present were HonтАЩble Shri Arjunsinh Mohite Patil and Hon. Shri Vishvatejsinh Mohite Patil, along with a majority of the association members.
The Ethanol Manufacturers Association of India and the Distillers Association of Maharashtra were commended for successfully organizing the annual meeting. It proved to be a positive and constructive gathering, during which several key issues concerning the ethanol industry were discussed in depth.
Notably, many of the concerns raised during last yearтАЩs meeting have already been addressed, thanks to the consistent efforts of the Association. While challenges such as rising overheads and increasing production costs persist, the proactive steps taken by the Association to resolve these matters and advocate for fair ethanol pricing were widely appreciated.
Several factory-specific issues were also mutually discussed, with the Association assuring members that maximum efforts will be made to resolve them at the earliest.
A significant development during the meeting was the unanimous approval of a proposal to rename the Association as The Ethanol and Biofuel Manufacturers Association of India, following a request from members.
The Association extended special thanks to HonтАЩble Shri Harshvardhanji Patil, President, NFCSFF Ltd., for joining the meeting online and offering valuable guidance and suggestions. One notable recommendation was to organize a seminar in Delhi involving ethanol experts, government ministers, and industry representativesтАФa move expected to open new avenues for meaningful discussions and practical solutions.
HonтАЩble Shri Pratik Patil, Vice President of the Association, emphasized that the Association has taken several crucial decisions in the interest of its members and is consistently working to resolve issues at both the Central and State Government levels. He informed attendees that Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have floated an ethanol tender for 1,050 crore liters for the Ethanol Supply Year (ESY) 2025тАУ26. The last date for online submission of bids is 7th October 2025.
He urged all ethanol-producing members to participate actively and maximize their contribution to the upcoming supply year. He also stated that the Association will pursue an increase in the ethanol purchase price from the Central Government. Additionally, steps will be taken to resolve the concerns raised by members regarding ethanol supply logistics and contracts.
Shri R. G. Mane, Executive Director, read out the complete agenda of the Ethanol AssociationтАЩs annual meeting, while Shri Mahadev Jadhav, Secretary, presented the agenda items of the Distillers Association.
