Telangana: Madhucon Sugar factory offers farmers 0.5 kg free sugar for every tonne of cane supplied

The 2025–26 sugarcane crushing season at Madhucon Sugar and Power Industries Ltd. in Rajeshwarapuram village of Nelakondapalli mandal began on Monday amid a lively and celebratory atmosphere. Former Lok Sabha Floor Leader of the BRS, former Khammam MP, and founder of the factory, Nama Nageswara Rao, along with his wife, performed special rituals before formally launching the crushing operations, reports Hans India.

Addressing the gathering of farmers, Nama said that although the factory has faced major financial losses since its acquisition, he understands the difficulties of cultivators as a farmer’s son. For this reason, he said, the factory continues to operate with the primary intention of supporting farmers.

In an important announcement, Nama declared that for the first time in the country, farmers supplying cane to the factory would receive half a kilogram of sugar free for every tonne of sugarcane delivered during the season, fulfilling a long-pending request from growers, reported The Hans India.

He commended the efforts of Managing Director Nama Krishnaiah, noting that he has been working tirelessly for the growth of the factory. Nama also appreciated the staff for their dedication and urged them to continue their efforts with the same spirit.

He reminded the audience that thousands of farmers and hundreds of families depend on the factory, which is why it has continued to function despite challenges and losses.

Emphasising the factory’s farmer-first approach, Nama said that Madhucon Sugar Factory offers one of the highest support prices for sugarcane in the state.

He urged farmers to expand sugarcane cultivation and assured them that their progress and well-being would always remain his top priority.
