The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has projected that Ukraine’s sugar production for the 2025/26 marketing year (MY) will reach 1.49 million tons, according to its latest report, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The forecast remains unchanged from the USDA’s May estimate but is 310,000 tons lower than output recorded in the 2024/25 season.
Ukrainian sugar exports are expected to total 701,000 tons, up by 1,000 tons from the May forecast, while ending stocks are projected to stand at 679,000 tons, unchanged from the previous estimate.
At the global level, experts estimate world sugar production at 189.259 million tons, down by 59,000 tons from the earlier projection. Global sugar trade is forecast at 66 million tons, an increase of 770,000 tons.
