Azamgarh: The sugar mills will face action if they close operations without completing the crushing of all the cane grown in the region. This is good news for the farmers as The Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill, Sathiaon will not close its operations on February 27 as it had declared earlier.

District cane officer Asharfi Lal said that the mill has to issue notices three times before closing the operations and they will not stop crushing till the administration gives the mill NOC for the same.

The Kisan cooperative sugar mill had issued the notification to close its operations on February 27 despite the crushing season is underway and hundreds of farmers are yet to harvest the cane grown in their fields.
