Phagwara: Taking strict action against the MS Golden Sandhar sugar mill, Phagwara for not paying pending cane dues of farmers, the district administration attached the properties of the mill as per section 72 of Punjab land revenue act 1887, reports Punjab News Express.
The administration attached a building, machinery etc of Gold Gym situated near Bus stand Phagwara , from which the mill owners earning money.
As per the order issued the SDM Phagwara asked the owners/caretakers of the Gold Gym to deposit all their earnings from the gym to the bank accounts of the district administration so that the some dues of farmers could be cleared .
The banks have been notified to seal the accounts of the concerned authorities so that they cannot withdraw any money from the accounts.
The land on which the gym has been constructed belongs to Maharaja Jagtjit (now owned by the Punjab Government) which not falls under the attachment.
