Sugarcane department takes action against two farmers for burning cane dry leaves

Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane department has initiated action against two cane growers that were found burning dry cane leaves, reports Live Hindustan.

These farmers would be prohibited to sell their cane to the sugar mills. The action against the farmers has been taken by the district cane officer.

DCO Brijesh Patel said that burning of stubble and agricultural residues in the fields is forbidden. The government has given strict orders related to this. Farmers are being made aware of it.

Instructions have been already issused to farmers not to burn dry cane leaves. Despite this, two farmers were found burning it and following which action was taken.
