Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: Minister Chaudhari Laxmi Narayan has warned the sugar mills of action against them if they fail to clear pending cane dues of farmers, reports Punjab Kesari.
The minister was on a one-day tour to Baghpat to attend a programme during which he warned the sugar mills.
Addressing the gathering, he said that government has made record cane payment in the last five years. Urging sugar mills to clear cane arrears, he said, “Not a single rupee outstanding should be remained before the commencement of sugarcane crushing season or else will lock the sugar mill.”
