Aligarh: Sugarcane farmers dues released

Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh: In a relief to sugarcane farmers, they have received pending cane dues of Rs 13 crore.

The farmers’ interest in sugarcane cultivation reduced due to the non-payment of the cane arrears. This has resulted in the lowering cane area in the region.

Agricultural land from Aligarh is suitable for sugarcane cultivation and the farmers were earning good profits by cane cultivation. However, with the delay in cane payments by the sugar mills, the farmers have started discontinuing cane cultivation in the region.

According to the news report published in Dailypioneer.com, District sugarcane officer Dr. Subhash Yadav said, “About 13 crore rupees have been received, payment will be made in the farmers’ accounts from Monday. The mill is undergoing repairs. Crushing will start soon. Due to Corona crisis, farmers will not get a slip, the message will come on the mobile. Get a mobile update done.”
