Anil Kawade appointed as Maharashtra’s new sugar commissioner

In a major reshuffle, Maharashtra government issued a transfer order on February 5, 2024, announcing key changes in the postings of several senior IAS officers across the state.

As per reports, Anil M. Kawade (2003 batch IAS Officer), the current Commissioner of CoOperation and Registrar of Co-Operative Societies in Pune, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Sugar. He has replaced Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar.

Chandrakant Pulkundwar has been appointed as the new Divisional Commissioner of Pune, replacing Saurabh Rao. Meanwhile, Saurabh Rao has been given the role of Cooperative Commissioner.

Anil Kawade has been actively involved in enhancing the cooperative sector’s functioning within Maharashtra.

It is worth mentioning that under the leadership of Chandrakant Pulkundwar, the sugar industry in the state worked for the welfare of the sector.
