Beed, Maharashtra: Jay Mahesh sugar mill from Beed has started using the technology of barcodes to regularize the traffic of sugarcane carrying vehicles. This sugar mill is the first in the state to implement this technology.
The sugar mill has pasted these bar codes to the 400 tractor-trolley and 200 bullock carts that are engaged in carrying sugarcane to the mill.
Once these vehicles enter at the cane weighing machine, the machine fitted there will scan the barcode and all the details of the vehicle including the number and weight of the cane would be automatically registered online. This would help in reducing confusion and traffic congestion at the mill premises among the cane carrying vehicles, said the mill administration.
