Belize: Santander Sugar group donates $100,000 to fight coronavirus

Belize: Coronavirus has impacted many countries across the world. It had first emerged in China’s Wuhan city in December last year and has now spread to many countries in the world. India is also affected by it. Every country is taking all preventive measures to curb it.

Belize is also affected by Coronavirus. To control the spread of Coronavirus, the Santander Sugar Group donates BZ$100,000 to the Minister of Health Pablo Marian. The funds have been donated for immediate help to the health system to support ongoing pandemic Coronavirus surveillance.

The ministry stated that this will help the capacity to strengthen to prevent, detect and respond to the emerging infectious diseases and health security programmes.

In India also, many companies, NGOs and others are coming forward to support the country. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the creation of the PM-Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (CARES) Fund and urged people to make donations to support the government in the fight against coronavirus.

“Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been constituted. This will go a long way in creating a healthier India. People from all walks of life can donate to this fund,” Modi wrote on Twitter.
